Auckland Players Succeed In Christchurch

Many poker players who regularly play at Auckland Skycity's Pokerzone, journeyed down to Christchurch last week to contest the NZ Poker Championships and did extremely well.

Regular Auckland Skycity poker player, Robert Wang, continues his impressive cash winnings in tournaments this year, when he collected $30,000 for first place in the Sth Island No Limit Hold em Championship. A combination of poker skill, good luck and an annoying voice, able to put any opponent on tilt, he has managed to collect over A$180,000 in tournament winnings since the beginning of he year.
Robert has numerous Skycity wins, including winning last years WSOP satellite and gaining an all expenses paid trip to Vegas to play the main event at the WSOP.
Robert is currently leading the Australasian Poker Leaderboard.

The Peter Peko Memorial event was won by Sam He, another Skycity regular. Using his mix of good skills in Omaha and Holdem, he was able to outlast 58 other players and grab $10,000 for first place.

John Pye also placed 3rd in both the Main Event and the Omaha Tournament, cashing for $38K.


And Martin Cardno, professional poker player and WSOP veteran, collected $24,000 for fourth place in the Main Event.
